[[NOT PHOTOSHOP, READ THE DESCRIPTION]] Add me on facebook!!!! ----> [link] [EDIT: 1st September] Finally the video of BACKSTAGE of the Avatar italian project; I'm really really happy and I hope everyone posted a comment on my photos of Neytiri see this video on YouTube (here the [link] ). In this video there are all the work and patience and engagement we put in this project. I really hope you like it.
THE AVATAR ITALIAN PROJECT IS COME!!! Finally the photoset is finished and this is only a preview of the entire photoset! (you can find it on Flickr at this [link])
It take 10 hours to make up and I was very tired after 5 hours fo work. But I'm very happy 'cause the result is really great!!! I am very impressed with the body paint that has gone into this, so many kudos! With my body paint photography, it looks like I've barely even dabbled in body painting compared to this amazing behemoth of a project that is so wonderfully and artfully carried out.
I'm not sure how I feel about the background. On the positive side, I like that it isn't distracting and I get that it alludes to the movie (i looked through the flickr pics). On the negative side, it is just kinda bland. It looks like you went in in post processing and dropped in a bkgd. However, this is coming from a person who likes to create sets and environments, so I might be biased.
I think there is a wonderful detail to wardrobe. Having not seen the movie since it came out, from what I can remember, this looks exactly like what the blue people wore. (can't remember what they were called).
Neytiri didn't have blue hair. I think this is one downside to the wardrobe. I say this only because it seems like you are obviously trying to replicate a character, and this is not true to the orig.
As a suggestion, not so much a critique, I would love to see some photoshopping done. I understand the point of this photo to point out that you didn't photoshop, and I certainly commend you on this. Having said that, and googling Neytiri, and coming back to your image, I want your eyes and forehead to be bigger, your body to be a bit more animal like. I think that photoshopping in this instance, done correctly, would add to the end product. Just a suggestion and something I would like to see done, not a critique.
And like everyone else has said, not very original, so I am not going to repeat.
Avatar has become a very common cosplay idea, so the originality of this loses points for that, but never the less, you pulled the illusion off beautifully, and yes, I thought it was Photoshopped. Ha. Vision achieved.
I have to say that this is something that would have a lot greater impact if I saw it in person or saw a video of it. The image is not very impactful. You could probably try for a more dynamic, action-filled pose. I also think a more colorful (but still blurred) background or an actual scene could drastically improve the piece.
I think the facial make-up is the most impressive piece of work in this image, but it is also greatly flawed. Her real ears look like they may be visible, but I am not sure about that. The noticeable flaw is where her hair line is. Her hair has been clearly painted blue and is sticking out, over and in front of the black hair. On the up side, I love the model. She is strikingly beautiful to me, and your make-up only accentuates her natural curves.
Wow! I've seen some good Avatar cosplays, but this really takes the cake! I mean, this is perfect! I am most impressed by the face, whatever you stuck on your face to create that Na'vi, cat-like nose and the large bridge of the nose, it worked perfectly! You look almost like a real Na'vi! I love this so much!
